Proud to be “giving back” to our community with Mission Cataract USA
The doctors and staff of the Cataract & Lasik Center of Utah have volunteered to participate in Mission Cataract USA. We want to help people living in the community who have no means of paying for needed cataract surgery. The Mission Cataract USA project brings together eye doctors, surgeons, and volunteers who will provide free eye screening and cataract surgery to patients who have no financial resources.
Beginning July 1-15 the Cataract & Lasik Center will be performing free eye screenings. The screening will determine those candidates with cataract and financial need. Eligible candidates will be given a thorough eye examination and as many people as possible will be scheduled for cataract surgery at our facility on Mission Cataract Day.
Due to the anticipated number of participants and Mission Cataract guidelines, we are limiting our surgery to cataracts only. I know there are many people in our community with unmet eye care needs. I appreciate any help you are able to provide in letting people know about the free surgery. US Citizens (regardless of age, race, or nationality) with cataracts that impair their vision and whose needs for eye health care are not met by their own income or supplemental health plans (such as Medicare, Medicaid, and other third party payers) may be eligible for the free surgery. Proof of income is required. We are excited about “giving back” to our community!
