Adapting to Construction...

UDOT Provides Tools for Short-haul Truckers and Delivery Drivers

Benjamin Franklin’s adage “time is money,” is especially true for businesses that depend on making timely deliveries and business calls. For these businesses, being delayed in traffic or behind road closures can affect the bottom line.

With the Utah County I-15 Corridor Expansion (I-15 CORE) well underway from Lehi to Spanish Fork, UDOT is reaching out to businesses that require frequent freeway usage – the short-haul trucker, delivery operator, and home service provider – to help them TravelWise, work around construction inconveniences and safeguard their business operations.

UDOT offers website tools to help these drivers plan ahead. The I-15 CORE Construction Hot Spots interactive map (udot.utah.gov/i15core) provides information on closures along the project and also gives real-time traffic delays on I-15 and local streets. UDOT’s i-truck program (itruck.utah.gov) provides closure and construction delays for trucking operations statewide and alternate routes for larger vehicles. Both provide weekly e-mail updates of the latest construction information as well as Facebook, Twitter and text alerts.

To help keep business moving and adapt to construction specifically on I-15 CORE, UDOT will host a Driver and Dispatcher Information Meeting. This meeting is designed to answer questions, share the most current information about the project and introduce useful information sources to help businesses manage freeway usage efficiently.

There will be two times and locations for the meeting, in order to accommodate as many businesses as possible. The first will be at the UDOT Region 2 Hurley Conference Room, 2010 South 2760 West, Salt Lake City, on August 30, 2010, 9-11 a.m. The second will be held at the Historic County Courthouse, 151 N. University Ave., Provo, on August 31, 4-6 p.m. To RSVP for the free event, visit udot.utah.gov/i15core or call (801) 341-6426.

Namifiers Expands with European Office

Springville, UT – 19 August 2010 – Utah manufacturer, Namifiers LLC, announced yesterday the opening of its European division for sales and distribution, Namifiers GmbH. Headquarter offices for the division will be located near Frankfurt, Germany.
The expansion will allow the company to more effectively serve hundreds of existing clients throughout Europe, as well as legitimize their position as a global leader for identification and branding products.

Namifiers was originally founded in 2001 by CEO, Bryan Welton Jr, in Provo, UT. Welton was 23 years of age at the time and faced the dilemma of pursuing his acceptance to law school or trying his hand at entrepreneurship. Being an enthusiast for lean manufacturing and e-commerce, he set out to build a unique promotional model that enabled businesses and consumers to directly access a vertical market that afforded one-stop shopping for both branding products and services.

Today, in addition to personalizing thousands of different items, Namifiers offers custom manufacturing, multi-facet design, re-branding services, and search engine optimization. Initially, their European efforts will remain product-specific, focusing on Nametags, Lanyards, Attachments, Badge Holders, and Badge Making Equipment. The company will compete in the online-retail sector, similar to the way Namifiers LLC reaches much of its North American client base.

“It’s always a bonus when something you dream about doing ends up coinciding with actual demand,” said CEO, Bryan Welton Jr. “We have the best service model in our industry, and I am thrilled to engage that within European commerce.”

As for personal accolades, Welton has been honored locally as the Reed Smoot Businessman of the Year, as a Finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and has repeated selections to the Top 40 Under 40 list for Utah. As a company, Namifiers has been selected to the Inc 5000 list of fastest growing private businesses in America for each of the last four years.
